Enrollment Process

Cherokee Classical Academy (CCA) is a tuition-free public charter school open to all students residing in Cherokee, Cobb, Bartow, Fulton, Pickens, and Paulding Counties, and the cities of Marietta, Cartersville, and Atlanta. CCA enrolls students in grades K-6 for the 2025-2026 school year and add a grade each year until reaching K-12.

Enrollment Application

New Enrollment for the 2026-27 School Year

Families interested in participating in the enrollment lottery for the 2026-27 school year will need to submit a new application for each student. Previous applicants who remained on the waitlist will need to reapply. The link to the application will be posted in early January. 

Enrollment Outreach Events

Learn more about Cherokee Classical at an enrollment outreach event! While children are welcome to attend, please note that all events are designed for adults who are making education decisions. Registration is required.

Campus Tours take place during the school day from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., allowing parents to see the campus in action. Enrollment staff will lead the tour of the school, provide information about the school's mission, curriculum, and culture, and answer parent questions. Click below to sign up for a campus tour. Enrollment Information Sessions take place in the evenings from 7-8:15 pm and are led by enrollment staff and school leaders, who will provide information about the school mission, curriculum, and culture, followed by time for parent questions. Note that additional information sessions taking place in January and February will be added soon.

Lottery Details

To the extent that demand exceeds the number of available seats for any given grade, the administration will conduct a public, system-generated, grade-level lottery. Lottery results will be posted to each applicant’s online SchoolMint account on the day of the lottery.

In accordance with Cherokee Classical Academy’s charter and as permitted by OCGA § 20-2-206 6, Cherokee Classical Academy will grant enrollment preference to the children of board members and the children of full-time employees.

In accordance with O.C.G.A. 20-2-2066(a)(1)(A), and as required based on the terms of the charter agreement, CCA will employ a weighted lottery for economically disadvantaged students. To facilitate the weighted lottery, applicants will indicate their economically disadvantaged status on the application. Applicants who receive offers will be required to provide documentation of their economically disadvantaged status.
