Arrival & Dismissal

General Traffic Flow

For the safety of all those on campus, traffic flow will be ONE WAY FOR ALL DRIVERS AT ALL TIMES. This must be strictly adhered to at all times. All drivers will either enter from Sixes Rd. at the lower entrance and flow in a clockwise motion around the building for carline, or enter at the lower entrance and proceed into the parking lot to park. All vehicles will exit from the upper exit onto Sixes Rd. Parking along fire lanes (red curbs) at any time and for any amount of time is strictly prohibited per Fire Marshal code.

Carline Drop-off/Pick-up Locations & Hours

We have worked closely with the Cherokee County Sheriff’s office to develop a carline plan that will be SAFE and efficient. As we collect traffic pattern data from the first week, we will work with the Sheriff’s office to modify and adapt the process to make it more efficient.

It is extremely important to ensure that the carline runs as efficiently as possible in both the morning and afternoon. We ask that you partner with us by preparing your student(s) accordingly, by making sure they are ready to exit the car quickly in the morning and actively looking for their car to enter quickly in the afternoon. Drivers will not be allowed to exit their cars during carline, and those needing additional time for seatbelts or loading will need to either move to the side or into the parking lot to do so.

During morning and afternoon carline operation, drivers coming from the west (Bells Ferry) will need to pass the school and make a U-turn at the E Shore/Timber Trace intersection to enter the carline. This will allow for a safer and more efficient exit from the school onto Sixes Rd in both directions. Outside of carline operation, drivers are welcome to make a U-turn at the opening in front of the school and enter at the lower entrance as normal.

Students will be dropped off and picked up from the same location. For all students, drivers will be dropping off/picking up on the right side of the building at the doorway closest to Sixes Rd.

Afternoon pick-up will take place between 2:55 and 3:25 pm. Any vehicles arriving after 3:25 will need to park in the parking lot and retrieve their student(s) from the ASP door on the right side of the building near the cafeteria. A drop-in rate for ASP will be charged for any student(s) who are not picked up during normal afternoon pick-up operation. Students will not be held in their classrooms or the front office for any amount of time after afternoon pick-up ends. This will be enforced starting on the first day of school.

Morning Dropoff

Morning drop-off will take place between 7:25 and 7:55 am. Any vehicles arriving after 7:55 will not be permitted to enter the carline and will need to park in the parking lot and walk their students into the front office to sign them in. This will be enforced starting on the first day of school.

We are asking for your grace and patience as our entire community learns the process. Here are some things you can do to help:

  • We ask that all students exit from the right hand side of the car for safety.

  • Do not get out of your cars for any reason in carline. This is a safety priority.

  • If you need to buckle your child in at dismissal, please park in the front parking lot to do so.

  • We ask that students be ready to get out of the car as soon as you reach the designated area.

  • Students should have their backpacks in the car with them so they can get out without having to open the trunk or walk around the car.

  • There will be many people outside to help you know where to stop, greet your student(s) and help them get where they need to go.

Afternoon Dismissal

Afternoon pick-up will take place between 2:55 and 3:25 pm. Any vehicles arriving after 3:25 will need to park in the parking lot and retrieve their student(s) from the ASP door on the right side of the building near the cafeteria. A drop-in rate for ASP will be charged for any student(s) who are not picked up during normal afternoon pick-up operation. Students will not be held in their classrooms or the front office for any amount of time after afternoon pick-up ends. This will be enforced starting on the first day of school.

Please note 2:30 is the final time to pick up students for early dismissal.  Anything later needs to run through the carline.

Dismissal Process

We ask everyone to help us make the dismissal process as efficient as process.  Here are some things you should be aware of to help speed the process:

  • You can only pick up if you have a carline tag. The person picking up must have the car tag. If they do not have the car tag, they will be asked to park in the parking lot and come into the front office with their ID.

  • Only people who either have the car tag or are listed in Infinite Campus are allowed to pick children up. Please make sure all people approved to pick up your child are listed in Infinite Campus.

  • Each family has one car tag number associated with their family. As such, when your number is entered into the carline process at pickup, all students associated with that number will be sent for pickup.

  • If your student doesn’t come out on time, you will be directed to the recall line. Please stay in your car, and we will bring your child to you.

  • If you do not have a carline tag in your possession, you will be redirected to park and go into the front office to show your ID, and confirm that you are listed in Infinite Campus as an individual authorized to pick up that child(ren).  Photos of car tags will not be accepted for the carline.

  • Any vehicles arriving after 3:25 will need to park in the parking lot and retrieve their student(s) from the ASP door on the right side of the building near the cafeteria. A drop-in rate for ASP will be charged for any student(s) who are not picked up during the normal afternoon pick-up operation. Students will not be held in their classrooms or the front office for any amount of time after afternoon pick-up ends. This will be enforced starting on the first day of school.

Let’s be friendly neighbors. Please don’t block driveways.

We ask you to be kind to our neighbors during carline, so we ask that you please do not line up in front of our neighbors’ driveway. We really want to show love to our neighbors and be good stewards of their entry and exit from their homes.

Visitor Parking Spaces

Visitor parking will be located in the main parking lot at the front of the school.

Staff & Vendor Parking Spaces

All of the parking spaces beyond the gates are designated as staff parking. There are also designated vendor parking spaces on the right side of the building. Visitors found to be parked in these areas will be asked to move.

Accessible Parking Spaces

Accessible spaces are located in the front row of the parking lot closest to the main entrance. These spaces are exclusively limited to those who display a valid accessible permit at all times and for all events. These spaces are not to be used for any other reason at any point before, during, or after school.
